This volume provides a large-scale, in-depth analysis of locative structures in Nigerian Pidgin and Ghanaian Pidgin English and compares those structures to locatives in their lexifier, substrate, and adstrate languages. The work draws on new research methods for investigating substrate and adstrate influence in semantics and creole genesis. This series offers a wide forum for work on contact linguistics, adopting an integrated approach to diachronic and synchronic manifestations of contact, ranging from social and individual aspects to structural-typological issues.
