PCOS,acomplexmultigenicdisorder, canhavemajorimpactonqualityoflifewithdepressivetendencies, infertility, obesity, manifestations of hyperandrogenism as well as long term increased risks for diabetes, the metabolic syndrome non-alcoholic fatty liver and cardiovascular disease. These and other issues are expertly laid out in the pages of this book, as is their management. The intuitive expectation that PCOS is associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease is supported by strong surrogate evidence, although outcome studies are lacking. And for now at least an increased risk for women who had PCOS and have entered the menopauseistentative.
