This document describes a numerical study of the behavior of a raft foundation constructed on soft soil reinforced with granular piles. A 3D finite element model was created using PLAXIS to model a 10m x 10m raft foundation with varying pile spacing, diameter, and length. The effects of these parameters on the settlement and bending moment of the raft foundation were analyzed. Results showed that using granular piles to reinforce the soft soil effectively decreased settlement and bending moment of the raft foundation compared to an unreinforced condition. Improvements increased with higher area replacement ratios, longer pile lengths, and smaller pile spacings.
